Coming from a 3700X with a 3600mhz CL16 memory kit. I've got an increase in both average fps and 1%-lows. I mostly play BeamNG Drive at 1440p which puts a very heavy single-thread load on the CPU. In the toughest scenarios I went from lows of 45fps to around 50-58fps and when my GPU got to stretch its legs I could see averages of over 600fps. I have a decent thermal paste and a Noctua NH-D15. Temps are in the 70s with an all-core load with fans at an audible speed. I get very few stutters in games. Fewer than one per day on average. Something that was more common on the 3700X. I'm very happy with my purchase considering I paid less for this than I did for the 3700X when it was new. Considering AM4 motherboards can be very cheap and the fact that this CPU holds up to ones that are 2 generations newer it's a very easy and budget-friendly recommendation for anyone upgrading from an AM4 platform or older CPU.
